Reviews

01

"A must-watch not just for animal lovers, but for anyone who believes in the power of compassion and change." (Lambros Nicolaou, Independent Reviewer)

02

"Very carefully selected characters, exceptional organization of footage and brilliant story climax. The cartoons were indispensable. Congratulations for exposing a difficult, sensitive and bitter subject without ever becoming didactic and, despite the huge obstacles and the dire situation, you focus on the volunteers' hope for change rather than on their desperation. That's how you inspire your audience. I am certain the film will have a big impact." (Effie Gavriel Kalopedi, Social Anthropologist)

03

"Brilliantly done, dealing with a serious issue expertly, it's an emotional journey that throws up some shocking numbers. Lots of worth." (Stefanos Farmakas, TV Producer, Member of BFI)

04

"Beautiful documentary about stray dogs and the people helping them. Hope this documentary brings awareness about animal cruelty." (Tim Roijers, Filmmaker)

05

"This is the story of millions of animals and people [...] told responsibly, with love for both and most importantly: told with the aim of bringing about change." (Korina Kontaxaki, Stage Director and Writer)

06

"From Cyprus to Florida and from Greece to Romania, Christina [...] documents the frustrating (and often hopeless) situation with strays, strange or inexistent legislation, the harshness of abandonement, but also the love, empathy and selflessness of those wonderful humans, the volunteers, who fight every single day in dire conditions, not only for the welfare of strays, but oftentimes to even keep them alive until they get adopted. The Stray Story is -mainly- an ode to those people, as well as a wake up call for the immense problem that exists in plain view, but we pretend not to see it." (Marinos Nomikos, Journalist)

07

"Absolutely amazing. Everyone should watch this and learn." (Tina B. Kristensen, Independent Reviewer)
